12 Days of Keeping Christmas

Days 7-12

For the next six days I will be featuring each individual story, and hopefully other content,  in Keeping Christmas: Volume 1. What better than a collection of stories that take place in castles during Christmas? I think these will be a great way to start the burr-months.

Grab a mug of something hot and delicious and curl up somewhere comfy. Your literary chariots await to take you on a journey from an early twentieth-century castle overlooking the Mississippi all the way back to the Holy Land at the time of Jesus’ birth. These six novellas, all set in castles real and fictional, celebrate the heart and joy of Christmas.

Day 8

The King’s Promise

by Tabitha Bouldin

In a world of airships and kings, a prince makes a promise that tears him away from his love. An ordinary baker’s daughter finds herself caught in the middle of a game where the winner earns the queen’s crown. They both want what they can’t have as they struggle toward a seemingly impossible happily ever after.

About Tabatha’s Castle

I based my castle in The King’s Promise off this castle in Romania. It’s known as Corvin Castle. My maiden name is Corvin, and we have reason to believe that our family originated from this area. We’re still working through our family tree, but it’s pulling us closer and closer to this specific castle.
