C.B. Caleb Woodworth has written a collection of testimoney that boast in God’s love.

Welcome C.B. Caleb Woodworth. What was the initial spark or idea that inspired this book?

An unction from Holy Spirit as we arrived in Port Isabel Texas in 2002. For the first time since college in 1962, I picked up a tablet, went outside, and began to write the first story from Book One: “The Gold Earring” (1978). That went off and on, little by little, line upon line for the next twenty-two years.

Did any real-life experiences or events influence the narrative of your book?

All of the stories are from my real-life experiences—in the Marines as an aviator, career as a physician, and years spent in various ministry and missions adventures. Some of my stories lean more toward the everyday, but they are all backdrops for the glorious, miraculous intervention of God in the lives of His children.

Are there any specific scenes or passages in your book that your found particularly challenging or rewarding to write?

All were rewarding but some more difficult, like “The Black Cloud” and “The Number TwoElevator,” where my carelessness risked the lives of my children. Probably the most noteworthywas my direct disobedience by taking on a SAM (surface to air missile) site outside officialboundaries as a Marine aviator in “Vietnam in the Rear Window” (1967). That decision has always been a double-edged sword and is to this day.

What do you hope readers will remember most about your book after finishing it?

That our God is alive and well and active moment by moment on earth in every Christian’s life, often acting incognito, through ordinary circumstances we identify as serendipity, coincidence, good luck, chance, karma, etc., while providing and protecting His kids (all 2,500,000,000) at every moment of our lives.

Are there any particular themes or messages you find yourself returning to in your writing?

Yes. Weaving through each tale is Psalm 27:13, “I would have despaired had I not known I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

What kind of impact do you hope your writing will have on readers?

That Christians would see that the God who hung and named all two billion trillion stars in ourknown universe has ample time to order the steps and count the hairs on each head of 2,500,000,000 Christians for whom His Son died to reconcile and restore a broken love relationship destroyed by us in the Garden of Eden—but finally healed and mended by Jesus’ workon the cross. There is nothing too large or too small in our lives of which He is not aware andready at the moment of a faith-starved prayer (and often without one) to come alongside to keep that relationship intact.

Amen! I can agree to that.
